Platea Magazine has announced Sonya Yoncheva’s upcoming album.
According to the online magazine, the soprano is set to release an album dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi featuring arias and duets. The album coincides with the sopranos upcoming Verdi tour this season with her brother tenor Marin Yonchev, who is also featured on the new album.
The album will be conducted by Riccardo Zanetti and is slated for a February 2018 release.

As a musician, what is your definition of success?
I think success is what you make of it. For me I already feel a huge sense of success personally as I am here maintaining a career that I love and enjoy. Performing in front of audiences who have paid to be there and see and hear you always makes me feel slightly horrified but then it also makes me care so much about what I am able to give back in return and that gives me a huge sense of success and achievement. Of course, there’s another aspect to the success of a great career but mine is still building itself and I am in no rush to be singing leading ladies at The Met, though one day, that would be very nice!

General Director Plácido Domingo announced that soprano Renée Fleming, one of the most beloved and celebrated singers of her generation, will return to LA Opera for a recitalon Tuesday, February 6, 2018, joined by her frequent collaborator, pianist Hartmut Höll. The recital will take place at 7:30pm at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, 90012).
